Ninja Gaiden 4 Review

Basically constant “Fatalities”

Ninja Gaiden 4 doesn’t ease you back into the shadows—it throws you off a cliff, hands you a sword on the way down, and expects you to figure it out before you hit the ground. And honestly? That’s exactly what fans wanted.

This is Ninja Gaiden at full intensity: fast, brutal, stylish, and completely uninterested in your feelings. Combat is razor-sharp and relentlessly demanding. Every enemy exists to punish sloppy play, every encounter feels like a test of reflexes, positioning, and sheer nerve. Button-mashing is not just discouraged—it is actively mocked by the game as you’re promptly turned into ninja confetti.

Ryu Hayabusa returns in peak form, moving like a blur of steel and bad intentions. Combos flow effortlessly once you master them, and the combat system rewards aggression, precision, and adaptability. The moment-to-moment action feels incredible—blocking at the last second, dodging through chaos, and slicing through enemies in a perfectly executed combo is pure adrenaline. When Ninja Gaiden 4 clicks, it feels untouchable.

The enemy design is vicious in the best way. Foes are fast, aggressive, and smart enough to swarm you the second you make a mistake. Boss fights are intense endurance matches that demand mastery, not luck. You will lose. You will learn. You will come back angrier—and better.

Visually, Ninja Gaiden 4 is sleek and violent, with dramatic lighting, flashy effects, and animations that sell every slash and impact. The game looks as sharp as it plays. Levels mix classic linear design with smart verticality, encouraging movement and momentum instead of hiding behind cover like a coward (which the game will not allow anyway).

The tone is refreshingly unapologetic. Ninja Gaiden 4 doesn’t dilute its identity or chase trends—it embraces what it is: a hardcore action game for players who miss being challenged. No endless tutorials, no hand-holding, no mercy. Just skill, discipline, and the constant threat of failure.

Is it for everyone? Absolutely not. If you want a relaxing experience, this game will eat you alive. But if you crave high-skill combat and that rare satisfaction of earning victory, Ninja Gaiden 4 delivers in brutal fashion.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is fast, fierce, and merciless—and that’s its greatest strength. It’s a triumphant return to form that reminds the world why ninja action games used to strike fear into players’ hearts. Sharpen your blade, steady your hands, and accept defeat… because victory has never felt this good.
