Grounded 2 Review

Honey, I Shrunk Myself… Again!

If the first Grounded made you feel tiny, Grounded 2 makes you feel microscopic in the best possible way. Obsidian basically said, “What if we took everything you loved—terror, teamwork, and traumatizing encounters with spiders—and cranked it up like a backyard rock concert?”

A Backyard That Feels Like a Whole Planet

The new map is enormous. Not “big for a backyard” enormous—big for a small country enormous. Every corner hides something: a new biome, a new creature, or a new reason to scream “NOPE” and sprint in the opposite direction. The art direction is gorgeous, too. Dew drops sparkle like gemstones, blades of grass sway like skyscrapers, and the sandbox is still a death trap.

Creatures: Cute Until They Aren’t

The bugs are smarter, sassier, and somehow more judgmental. Ladybugs still look adorable, but now they have moods. Ants will absolutely steal your stuff if you’re not paying attention. And spiders? Let’s just say they’ve learned new tricks, and none of them are friendly.

Building: HGTV but Make It Miniature

Base building is wildly improved. You can create sprawling treehouse networks, underground ant-proof bunkers, or a questionable “floating” fortress that definitely violates several physics laws. The new crafting options make it easy to lose hours perfecting your tiny architectural masterpiece.

Story: Mystery, Mayhem, and Mosquitoes

The narrative digs deeper into the science experiment gone wrong, giving you more characters, more lore, and more reasons to question why any adult thought shrinking children was a good idea. The missions are fun, varied, and occasionally chaotic in that “I swear this was supposed to be a stealth mission” kind of way.

Co‑op: Friendship Builder or Friendship Destroyer

Playing with friends is still the best way to experience the game. You’ll laugh, you’ll panic, you’ll argue about who forgot to close the base door and let in a wolf spider. It’s bonding, really.

A Bigger, Better, Buggier Adventure

Grounded 2 is everything a sequel should be: more ambitious, more polished, and more delightfully unhinged. It’s a survival game with heart, humor, and just enough horror to keep you on your toes. If you’ve ever wanted to feel like a heroic ant-sized adventurer, this is your moment.
