Nioh 3 Review

This game made me say “whoa” a lot…..

Nioh 3 keeps what the series does best - quick, challenging fights - and throws in a few fresh ideas to keep things interesting. The biggest change is that the levels are more open now. This gives you room to explore instead of just going through missions that are all in a straight line. It’s a good improvement, even if some areas can feel a bit packed at times.

The fighting is still the standout part. The new option to switch between Samurai and Ninja moves in the middle of a battle adds a fun strategic element. One moment you’re trading big hits, the next you’re zipping around enemies with quick attacks. This keeps battles engaging and makes trying out different ways to play feel more rewarding.

The difficulty is what you’d expect - tough, but fair. The boss fights will really test your patience, but winning them feels incredibly good. That feeling of wanting to try just one more time is strong here.

The story is okay but not something you’ll remember. It sets the mood, but it’s not the main reason you’ll keep playing. Visually, the game looks good, though it doesn’t always feel like a giant leap forward. And how it runs can vary a bit depending on what system you’re using.

All in all, Nioh 3 is a solid sequel. It doesn’t totally change things up, but it makes the existing formula better in smart ways. If you enjoy action RPGs that give you a good challenge, this one is a definite recommendation.
